(Part 20b) End Time is one contiguous event Revelation Chapter 12 (cont.)

Verses 6-10 NKJV

Revelation 12:6 “Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.

“Wilderness”: God will protect Israel from Satan by sheltering her in the wilderness, perhaps in the region of Moab, Ammon, and Edom, east and south of Palestine. Interestingly, those countries will be specifically spared from the Antichrist’s attack against the Holy Land (Daniel 11:41). There are theological minds who believe this sheltering will be due to the “Jews” being mixed well within the general populations of this world.

A thousand two hundred and threescore days”: At the midpoint of the Tribulation, the Antichrist breaks his covenant with Israel. The church isn’t even hinted at being included. He puts a stop to temple worship, sets up the abomination of desolation (Daniel 9:27), and devastates Jerusalem (Revelation 11:2). At that time, many Jews flee for their lives, but not all. God will preserve those who flee them during the last 1,260 days (42 months; 3-1/2 years), the Great Tribulation (Time of Jacob’s Trouble; Jeremiah 30:7, Matthew 24:21,22).

Satan will not have a free checkbook. Israelis who understand this scripture will “flee Jerusalem”. (Matthew 24:15-21). Just as was true during the Exodus from Egypt, others besides “Jews” will flee from the wrath of the antichrist. Those who accept Christ during this final stage of the Great Tribulation may attempt to join this escape.

It does not take much more than looking around our environment and world. Multitudes are trying to regulate God’s creations. It isn’t that some of their causes are wrong, but their pleading is to distract from accepting God.

Verses 7-9: The vision of “war in heaven” anticipates Satan’s exclusion from “heaven” and his confinement to the “earth” during the last half of the Great Tribulation. “Michael” the archangel is the leader of God’s holy angels (Daniel 10:13, 21; 12:1; Jude 9). Satan is the chief of the fallen angels. In the middle of the Tribulation period, God will empower Michael and his forces to “refuse” Satan and his force’s access to heaven. Satan is forced to restrict his activities to the earth.

Revelation 12:7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought,

War in heaven”: The turbulent events on earth during the Tribulation find their counterpart in heaven. A state of war has existed since the fall of Satan. Something will intensify that warfare, possibly the raptured saints passing through the realm of the prince of the power of the air (Ephesians 2:1,2). Satan will then know his time is numbered in months. We Teach – You Decide.

Revelation 12:8 “but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.

The vision of war in heaven anticipates Satan’s removal from and to “heaven”. He is then restricted to the earth during the last half of the Great Tribulation. Satan must thereafter confine his activities to the earthly sphere. His focus is the destruction of Israelis. Michael the archangel is the leader of God’s holy angels (Daniel 12:1). He is the protector of Israel.

There is an order of command in heaven as there is on the earth.  Not only the church of the Lord Jesus Christ is being attacked here on the earth, but there is war in heaven as well. Here we see the defeat of Satan to such an extent that he is not allowed in heaven anymore. Satan will no longer be able to accuse the believers. At a given point, Satan will occupy the bottomless put with shackles holding him. This will be during the Millennial Reign of Jesus on earth. Sin will still be possible, but sin will not be influenced by Satan. It will be the choice of mankind.

His defeat on the earth will be complete when, as seen in Revelation 20:14, all sins and offenses of God will then reside in the Lake of Fire. His doom was sealed when Jesus died on the cross and was resurrected. This is exactly what Satan has tried to prevent. He knew he could not slay Jesus, but he has tried and continues to prevent the truth of the cross from being shared.

Revelation 12:9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him

Revelation 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.

(Part 20) End Time is one contiguous event – Revelation Chapter 12

The object in your mirror is nearer than it appears

Verses 3-4: The “dragon” is identified as Satan (in verse 9). His “red” color shows his murderous character (compare John 8:44). His “seven heads” and “seven crowns” depict the completeness and universality of his power and influence (but compare Psalm 74:14). His “ten horns” show Satan’s connection with the fourth beast (of Daniel 7:7, 24), and with the Beast from the sea (in chapter 13:1-10 of Revelation). The “third part of the stars of heaven” are the fallen angels who followed Satan in his original rebellion against God (Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel. 28:12-16; 2 Peter 2:4; Jude 6). At the time of the birth of Christ, Satan was ready to kill Him (compare Matthew 2:13-18).

Revelation 12:3 “And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.”

Great Red Dragon”: The woman’s (Israel’s) mortal enemy is the Red Dragon, Satan. He appears as a dragon 13 times in this book. Red speaks of bloodshed (John 8:44) just as does the red horse in the four horsemen of the Apocalypse.

We see here “ten horns” which symbolize an identifiable world power. We can assume these world powers oppose Christians, Jews, and those who rebel against their rule.

Seven heads … ten horns … seven crowns”: Figurative language depicting Satan’s world influence. (Daniel 7:7, 20, 24). Satan has and will rule the world until the seventh trumpet blows (Revelation 11:15). He continuously seeks to destroy the descendants of Jacob whose offspring are the promise of Abraham (Daniel 8:24). He desired to kill the woman (Israel) before she could bring forth the child (Jesus) through the Tribe of Judah. The crucifixion has happened. Satan now seeks to devour souls taking as many as possible with him to eternal doom.

These seven are heads of evil governments. This world power through these earthly kingdoms comes from Satan himself via antichrist. The ten horns are likely a reflection of reflection of the Old Roman Empire. Like it has always been, there will also be those who cause trouble for him even outside of Israel or believers.

His ten horns show Satan’s connection with the fourth beast (Daniel 7:7, 24), and with the Beast from the sea i.e., identified within the population of the world in Revelation 13.

Revelation 12:4 “And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman, which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.”

The third part of the stars of heaven”: Satan’s original rebellion (Isaiah 14:12), resulted in one-third of the angelic host joining his insurrection. Note that angels are often identified as stars. What raises legitimate curiosity is how Satan (then called Lucifer) could convince 1/3 of heaven’s angels to follow him. We do not know the answer to this. We call these fallen angels, “demons”. They serve Satan and play an important role in the judgments of the Tribulation. Demons are spirits!

Devour her child”: Unable to prevent the virgin birth of Christ, Satan tried to kill the child in a general massacre of male children commanded by Herod (Matthew 2:13-18). Study Note: Satan himself could not destroy the baby child, Jesus. Satan wanted to prevent the “man-child” from accomplishing his mission, God’s plan of salvation through the blood of Jesus. How do we know this? Jesus did die as a man on the cross at Calvary. Satan tried to prevent the cross, not Jesus himself.

Satan used Herod to try to kill Jesus. That was not God’s plan, so Jesus was protected until the time of the cross. The birth of the church comes through Jesus. Satan has tried to devour or compromise it ever since. Being religious is not a true believer. Scripture repeatedly says that judgment will be according to man’s works (O.T.: Proverbs 24:12; Jeremiah 17:10; 32:19; N.T.: Matthew 16:27; Romans 2:6; 14:12; Revelation. 2:23; 22:12)

Verses 5-6: The “man-child” is Jesus Christ. He will rule all nations from Jerusalem as the Messiah (Revelation 19:15; Psalm 2:7-9). The “wilderness” represents anywhere outside Palestine. During the last half of the Tribulation period (1,260 days, or three and a half years), Israel will take refuge where God will care for his chosen. Chronologically (verse 6 probably occurs after verses 7-12). It is parallels verse 14.

Revelation 12:5 “And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and [to] his throne.”

KNOWLEDGE NOTE: (understanding the sequence of Revelation 12:5) Jesus was born the man child. In the Millennial age, he will set up his kingdom on earth. Before this, Jesus ascended from the Mt. of Olives returning to heaven to wait for the time assigned by God the Father for him to return setting his feet on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem. The throne identified in Revelation 12:5 is on the right hand of God the Father in Heaven.

During Jesus’ earthly, Millennium Kingdom, his iron rod rule is not the end judgment. It is the setting up of his earthly kingdom. Satan is bound with no earthly influence. When a man or woman sins during the Millennial Kingdom, it sets the stage for the End Time Great White Throne judgment. To sin against the rule of Jesus is part of the judgment at the Great White Throne. The “Rod” sets the conditions for the world during the Millennial Reign. In other words, the ROD distinguishes between right and wrong. It reinforces right and punishes wrong (Zechariah 14:18).

(Part 19) End Time is one contiguous event – Being Prepared (Knowledge)

Matthew 23:30-39

Many modern-day believers neither know what to expect as End Time nears nor how to test the “spirits” before and during the Tribulation. We will discuss a few of these topics today. Bear it in mind that with 400,000 plus churches in America, why is the truth of simultaneous culture and Bible history not being taught? History without including the actuality of the Bible and Christianity is selective for a reason. Satan loves religion but does not want Christianity.

Today from Matthew 23 we pick it up from where we left off in our previous blog…verses 30 through 39. Verse 30 is a conclusion of verse 29… The Scribes and Pharisees issue in this chapter concludes similarly as does American politics. They can say bitter things about a politician of opposing political views, but upon one or the other’s death, their comments sound like the deceased was a treasured political leader. Jesus is saying the same about the scribes and Pharisees as they regard the prophets of old. They opposed them when living but whitewash their views at the tombs of murdered prophets or deceased politicians.

Today we would call the response of false and fervent religious leader teachings a gaff. Jesus told these religious leaders Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets.” How are these religious hypocrites identified by Jesus as caught in a major gaff? They have just admitted their fathers, the former religious leaders of the Temple and Israel, as being what Jesus identifies as hypocrites. Then he points out that these sons of hypocrites have the same practice. Jesus says that this will be their continued practice…right up and into the End Time Tribulation. Therefore, what will be so brutal to Israelis during the Tribulation, is an “it must happen” situation. Nothing else has or will shake them (Israelis) from their customs and disregard for our and THEIR Messiah.

What about believers? This is a tough thing to write as in admit.

Customary “worship” services end up with pulpit and bible study classes being little more than rehashes of the Bible stories instead of the HIS-tory surrounding Bible content and explaining how the two elements are concurrent. Secular and biblical histories are not exclusive of one another. They are simultaneous events.

Going back to our opening sentences, a primary question is, how does one know the difference between guiding spirits? People have been duped into thinking there is no such thing. This is Satan at work. If he can convince people there is no such thing, then in one’s mind, there is no such thing. This shuts out the Holy Spirit. The question to be asked of anyone suggesting a contrary religious view: “is Jesus Christ the only begotten son of God?” If a spirit leads one to think Jesus is a religion, not a real thing, it is Satan or his minions.

At end-time as is true today many will believe in spirits, but not the Holy Spirit. Many will see, in End Times, these spirits as something to be worshiped. This is PRECISELY Satan’s goal since day one. In End Time Tribulation, Satan (Dragon #1) will cause through his antichrist (Dragon #2), false prophet, and man-made idol to command that all must worship Satan or be killed. This is a proxy command meaning it comes from Satan but through another one’s voice i.e., a third party, a proxy. This is addressed in chapter 24 of Matthew. This too has been referred to in a previous ahabiblemoment article. It will be the midpoint of the Tribulation of Israel when Satan declares himself as a god to be worshiped at the expense of one’s life. This is not JUST believers or Israelis. It is ANYONE who does not bow a head to him or take the *mark of the beast.

*Revelation 16:2 and 19:20 cite the “Mark of the Beast” as a sign that identifies those who worship the beast out of the sea ( Revelation 13:1 )

Matthew 23:34,35 explains that Jesus is not only talking about those religious leaders who had already murdered prophets but that those he will send, such as the disciples will be murdered. Their rejection is not of the prophets but of Jesus as the Messiah. When will all this end? When Israel is backed into a corner from which there is no escape other than the intervention of the same Messiah they will continue to reject up to and into most of the 7-year Tribulation of End Time. Zechariah is the one to whom Jesus refers in Matthew 23:35.

*Zechariah son of [his father] Berekiah, the son of Iddo [his grandfather].

Matthew 23:36 needs explanation. It reads in the NKJV: Assuredly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.” Who is: “this generation?” For an answer go to verse 39. for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, ‘BLESSED is he who comes in the name of the Lord.” When will God’s elect (Israel) say blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord? At the end of the Tribulation. This is Jesus. This is the generation upon which End Time consequences of a history that continually rejects Christ will be completed.

Matthew 23:37 is often read without knowledge that its content IS ITS CONTEXT. “Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem…” Why the redundancy of the name Jerusalem? The word or name is not analogous or a stand-in for including the church of gentile and Israeli believers. People so often confuse the name Jewish as indistinguishable to a denomination called Judaism…a religion. It means those who descend from the twelve tribes of Israel/Jacob. Therefore, to whom this passage identifies as Jerusalem is those who were given Jerusalem by the edict of God…Israelis. Those who descended from the twelve Tribes of Israel. Note this does not include the church. They are already in the rapture either before or at the midpoint in the 7-year Tribulation. Jacob’s Trouble begins at the 3 ½ year mid-point of the Tribulation when the antichrist sets himself to be worshiped in the rebuilt Temple.

Verse 39 is powerful per end time because it is THE END TIME event. Israel will be in such dire circumstances that it will take the direct intervention of God/Jesus to keep them from total elimination. This has been and continues to be Satan’s goal. We know this from the passage found way back in Genesis 3:15. Satan we know as the snake and the one crushing the head of the snake is birthed through Israel (Jesus). Note the gender change in Genesis 3:15. Jesus is birthed through the Tribe of Judah. Jesus is the offspring that will crush the head of the serpent Satan.

Genesis 3:15I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.”

The woman is not a reference to Eve who was being deceived by Satan in the Garden of Eden. It is a reference to a future Israel. Satan despises their existence. They are God’s elect as in the chosen. He is not! They are not the exclusive light on a hillside to the world or exclusive to a salvation that is theirs and theirs alone. They are God’s chosen who failed to be as God commanded…the light on a hillside to the world.

When will Israel finally say in earnest “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.” It will be at the end of the Tribulation period when massive forces from all nations surround Israel with no escape.

New American Standard Bible: For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be taken, the houses plundered, the women raped, and half of the city exiled, but the rest of the people will not be eliminated from the city (Zechariah 14:2).

(Part 18) End Time is one contiguous event – End Time Hypocrisy

The reason Israel will go through the Tribulation.

Matthew 23 Then Jesus said to the crowds and his disciples: “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. [NKJV]

This verse is relevant today and more so as we near the time of the Tribulation. Like it or not, just as death is appointed for mankind, we are nearer End Time than yesterday or two minutes ago. To address some readers’ curiosity, End Time does not have a beginning date. Conditions on earth will move into it gradually. BUT…It does have an ending date!

We do know the recognition date of the End Time. This is when the abomination of desolation is globally exposed. It will be on purpose. The Antichrist will declare on the floors and in the sanctuary of the rebuilt Jewish Temple that he is to be worshiped…NO EXCEPTIONS. The abomination of desolation is a prophetic event found in the book of Daniel *(Daniel 12:11) and referred to by Jesus Christ (Matthew 24:15).

*Daniel gives a duration time slot that God will allow the abomination to be practiced. Truths will then be what is said by the evildoers. Common sense and logic will be subdued and eliminated as much as possible. Liberal arts will truly be liberal arts. Freedom of speech will be limited to the left of policy and politics. Read Ecclesiastes 10:2. Prepare yourself for a shock if one has not read this passage before now.

The teachers of the law now sit in Moses’ seat, it has to be a do what I say but not what they practice. Isn’t this true today? We are told what to do even if it is wrong. Calling right wrong and wrong right is also an End Time warning. We find it to be global, not just in the USA court and legislative branches of government. There are about 100 verses in scripture that state or allude to this. One example is found in Isaiah 5:20-21.

Continuing with Matthew 23:3b we read… So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. This does not mean to do anything that is against the laws of God, but it does mean to follow the truths of what they read to them (us) about the laws of scripture. The teachers of the law at that time in history were not quoting from their hearts and spirit but their selfish perspectives. They wanted Israel to follow the law even though they did not. This will be and already is what governing bodies of this world wish on their general populations. Do as I say not as I do.

But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. This is chief amongst the scriptures we read in the Bible about deceitfulness. Deceitfulness is not only the sneaky stuff but what Jesus is talking about in Matthew 23:3c includes do as I say and not as I do. This puts the guilt of sinning on the shoulders of the listener. One KNOWS better but blames the messenger for him or her being contrary. Understand this! If one knows better s/he cannot be excused for doing as cancel-culture or the wrong being right crowd wish all to believe.

The Bible not only warns us to not be deceived but to not be self-deceived. Click here to read eight different verses about deception.

Continuing Matthew 23… in its entirety is a monologue by Jesus. He points out what is a major problem with Israel’s/Judah’s leadership, then and now, and why HIS chosen or elect will suffer the consequences of the Tribulation. He primarily addresses the scribes and Pharisees.

NOTE: Let’s understand the use of these two titles: scribes and Pharisees.  According to Strong’s Greek definitions, a scribe (G1122) is a writer, that is, (professionally) scribe or secretary: – scribe, town-clerk. It is not a sect, tribe, or subtribe of Israelites. A Pharisee according to G5330 is a separatist, that is, exclusively religious; a Pharisaean, that is, Jewish sectary: – Pharisee. In comparison to a scribe, this is a unique group of people.

Notice that the Sadducees are not mentioned in Matthew 23. A good question to ask is why Jesus didn’t include the Sadducees in his chapter 23 monologue. They were primarily responsible for the Temple’s upkeep and maintenance plus well known for their corruption. Jesus realized that about 30 years after his death and resurrection around 30-32 A.D. the Temple would be destroyed (70 A.D.) by the Persians/Babylonians. The sect of Sadducees would die off. They no longer exist and will not exist during the final days of In That Day i.e., Tribulation.

Jesus gives *8 woes in his monologue in Matthew 23.

* The older Bible manuscripts leave out verse 14, #2 of 8 woes in the King James Version.

1.         Matthew 23:13  “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.

2.         Matthew 23:14  Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore, you will receive greater condemnation.

3.         Matthew 23:15  “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.

4.         Matthew 23:16  “Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘Whoever swears by the temple, it is nothing; but whoever swears by the gold of the temple, he is obliged to perform it.

5.         Matthew 23:23  “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.

6.         Matthew 23:25  “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence.

7.         Matthew 23:27  “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.

8.         Matthew 23:29  “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous, (but you rejected and killed them).

We encourage the reader of this article commentary to read the verses between each woe listed here from Matthew 23.

The End Time connection with these woes is what Jesus points out, they are the guilt of his elect or chosen people. The Tribulation is the final chapter of their punishment. God is removed from worship by men. Worship is replaced by denominations and religious acts i.e., church attendance. Remember, these woes are directed at God’s Left Behind elect, not the world in general. The world in general falls under a different condemnation…The Great White Throne Judgment.

PS; Isaiah 24:19-23

The earth is broken asunder,
The earth is split through,
The earth is shaken violently.
The earth reels to and fro like a drunkard
And it totters like a shack,
For its transgression is heavy upon it,
And it will fall, never to rise again.
So it will happen on that day,
That the Lord will punish the host of heaven on high,
And the kings of the earth on earth.
